Any one that grew near Austin know about The Alamo Draft House if they do not then I often wonder where they really living. It is a huge question in my life???I have gone to the one and only The Alamo Draft House downtown Austin a number of times. I always get a little queasy going there because I used to go to this place called The Boathouse back in the 80's, when I was underage and my gay friends had to sneak me in. Did I mention it was a gay bar. So when we drive and park, I can remember all thr drunken nights and the pre-nervousness of trying to get it.
My now husband took me there on dates but it was not till he and I had had a baby, moved to San Antonio and started of this path I am on today that I got lived my most unforgettable times. No, I did not have any life altering experience, no I did not meet a person who changed my life nor did I see the most life altering flick .
What I got there that I never got in any Church was an overwhelming sense of Community during the showing of

A Buffy sing-a-long!!!
My husband, myself and a bunch of would be Scoobies got to sing and laugh and yes CRY at a public viewing of my all time life altering Television show. I named my son after Angels real name....Before he was Angelus...when he was only a drunken lout living in Ireland with bad hair. I did not admit this to anyone for a long time, for only those that have dwelt deep into Buffiana Verse would know this.
Anyway The Alamo Draft House gave my dream of reliving Buffy a chance to shine.
I will always remember that moment more than any drunken makeout session with a would be bisexual..
THEY GOT THE MUSTARD OUT!!!!
